Tours / Hummingbirds of Southern Peru, photo tour

About hummingbirds

In Southern Peru, you'll find Cusco, the center of Inca culture. From there, we start our journey to beautiful places and ecosystems, where we'll search for and photograph some of the most beautiful hummingbirds in the world.
On this trip we will go for the rarely seen hummingbirds that are found in the heights of the Andes.

In this spectacular journey, we will explore beautiful Andean and mountain habitats with a great diversity of birds, especially hummingbirds.
First, we will visit Abra Málaga, where we will encounter the White-tufted Sunbeam (E=Endemic), Scaled Metaltail, Sapphire-vented Puffleg, Swallow-tailed Hummingbird, and possibly the Blue-mantled Thornbill and Andean Hillstar.
Moving on to various hotspots, we will encounter the gorgeous Bearded Mountaineer (E), as well as the Green-and-white Hummingbird (E), Sword-billed Hummingbird, Giant Hummingbird, and possibly the Great Sapphirewing.
Continuing our journey along the famous Manu Road, with its diverse ecological zones, we will find the Buff-thighed Puffleg, Peruvian Piedtail (E), Rufous-booted Racket-tail, Gould's Inca, Rufous-capped Thornbill, White-bearded Hermit, Buff-tailed Sicklebill, Rufous-crested Coquette, and Wire-crested Thorntail.
We will also come across numerous tanagers and many other colorful birds.
